Working at home in affiliate marketing can be a lucrative business if done correctly. We can talk about working from home, and you probably already know the benefits of doing that, but here are some thoughts just to name a few:

  • Affiliate marketing gives you control of your time
  • Affiliate marketing gives allows you to invest more time in the ones you love
  • Affiliate marketing gives you the income that can easily replace the income of a 9 to 5 job
  • Affiliate marketing gives you the flexibility to work when you want and from wherever you want

So, what is the cost for working from home as an affiliate marketer?

That’s a great questions, and one that very many people don’t talk much about. Think about it. If you were trying to sell products to teach people about affiliate marketing or even working from home, do you want to present your prospects with a bunch of challenges that they will inevitably run into?

I don’t know about you, but I pretty much doubt it. If I tell everyone that it would be nearly impossible to succeed, well, then they just won’t buy from me. They’ll buy a more expensive product with much less content simply because they say you will strike it rich. People don’t really want the truth, they want a fantasy…. that’s a whole other blog post…

Anyway, back to the point here. I want to give you the truth so you can face it, and make the fantasy a reality by overcoming the brutal facts.

Here are the costs of working from home as an affiliate marketer:

  • No Proper Training - this one is key, because if you don’t know how to sell online, it doesn’t matter if you have access to the absolute best products that virtually everyone wants. Some of the training that you will need is how to find profitable products that people already want to buy, how to create a sales system that will automatically bring more and more sales even while you sleep, and even how to capture your customers’ names before they even get to your product. That way, you can sell them more and more over time.
  • Not Having The Right Tools - here is the hard truth. People don’t realize that affiliate marketing and working from home is an actual business. The problem with that is that they never equip themselves with the right tools to have maximum success. Let me give you an example. I owned 2 mortgage companies in the past. For licensing purposes, I had to have $35,000 cash in reserves just to get the license. Next, I had to hire a staff which gave me a payroll of about $20,000 a month. Then, I had to rent an office space which at the time was roughly $1750 a month, plus expenses, utilities, supplies…. I think you get the point. When we look at working from home, you can literally make thousands of dollars each month without spending much more than $100 a month for internet access, an auto-responder, a domain name, and hosting. Many people don’t even want to spend that. This is a business, right!
  • Lack Of Technical Skill - many people are under the impression that just because this is an internet business, they need to have a programming degree or something. The truth is, with affiliate marketing, all you really need to do is know how to write. You can use a blog, articles, press releases, Squidoo lenses, and even MySpace and other online communities. All you really need to do is get people to visit a website that isn’t even yours. You don’t need to create some fancy pants website, or an elaborate program or product. Simply direct people to what they are looking for.

Fortunately, there’s a solution for most of this. There are tools readily available to help you through this process. As a matter of fact, I use them every day to run my online business. Just imagine being able to create a website with a few clicks, creating a mailing list without you having to manually email your list everyday, and then sell products with a sales system that is already created for you. Would that work for you?

It does for me. Check out what I’m talking about to overcome the challenges most people have in affiliate marketing!

Have you ever wondered what makes the big internet marketing experts BIG?  Do you know why they are highly profitable? In internet marketing, the secrets is really simple; residual income through membership sites.

Here’s the thing.  Most internet marketing entrepreneurs focus on creating products and selling them, then moving on to the next product and selling it too.  They are in the constant shuffle of building, creating, and selling, and doing that process all over again.

Another popular model in internet marketing is affiliate marketing, where you just sell other people’s products, get a sale, and then try to continue selling to make more money.  This model doesn’t provide any type of residual income.  Basically, you make money only when you sell.

As you can quickly see, your next paycheck is dependent on selling more and more products without having any guarantee whatsoever that you will have food on the table next month.  Well, that model may be profitable, but not if you plan on having a life along with your business.

When you look at those who have been massively successful in internet marketing, it all comes down to one thing; membership sites that create residual income.  Think about it, each and every month, your customers are paying once again for access to your site.

What this means is if you have 250 people paying you just $20 a  month for your membership site, you will have $5000 each and every month that you can count on.  Now, envision getting 1000 people on board.  That adds up to a decent $25,000 each month.  Can you live off of that?

It’s not as hard as you think.  To give you a better understanding of how to set up a membership site in any niche whatsoever, read the report that I have at the end of this post.  It’s entirely free, and you will see how easy it really is to make this kind of income from membership sites.  Simply click here to get this free report: www.SeeForYourselfAt.com/InfiniteProfitsFreeChapter1.pdf.

Joint ventures are an interesting concept that can have dramatic effects on your business, especially your online business. I first learned about joint ventures when I was in the mortgage business. Before I get into that, its important that you know what joint ventures are.

Joint venture partnerships are a mutually beneficial business arrangement where two or more parties come together to improve their businesses.

What does all that mean? Well, very simply put, we work together and I scratch your back, and you scratch mine. In the mortgage business, a common joint venture that I had were real estate agents. Think about it. They needed to sell homes, and I had buyers who are approved to buy homes. This led to constant referrals back and forth which was beneficial to each of our businesses.

When we think of an online business, joint ventures operate very similarly. In fact, I have discovered roughly 3 different ways that you can partner with someone to explode your business.

1.  Product Creation - this method is when people partner up in order to create a product. Maybe one person has great concepts and ideas, and the other can write their wrist off in one night. Another example is a marketer identifying a problem that many people are having, and then partners with a software developer to create the solution. Then, the developer hands it over to the marketer to sell it and get affiliates. You can easily see, this joint venture partners is a win-win situation!

2. Product Promotion - this is the first type of joint venture partnership that you usually think of. Although it definitely is a big one, its not the only kind of joint ventures which is contrary to what many believe. This type of joint venture involves marketers partnering up for a new product launch, a special offer, or some kind of promotion to each other’s email list. One partner sells his products, the other makes the commission. This is one of the absolute best ways to make money with your own product, by simply having joint venture partners promote it.

3. List Building -list building can be supercharged by using joint venture partners. Here are a few ways you can build a list with joint venture partners. You can offer a bonus on your partners product, but people will have to opt in to your list to get the bonus. Another way is to have a special offer to only your partners list, and when your partner promotes it, you capture all the leads. You can then reciprocate and send your list to your partners offer.

As you can quickly see, there are many advantages to having joint venture partners. You business can go in hyper drive just by simply employing some of these methods.

If you aren’t sure how to get started with your first joint venture partnership, I have prepared a special report and several videos, absolutely free, that you can use to learn how to get started. Simple click on Joint Venture. This is an absolute free resource, so make sure you get it quickly!

Building traffic through articles is a great long term, free method of generating traffic to your site. I have several sites that I run in different niches.  This one is on internet marketing, however, a few of the other ones that I have are in unrelated niches which are from my experiences in the past.

Anyway, one of the things that I learned early on in my internet marketing career is the raw power of article writing.  Article writing is pretty similar to posting on your blog since blog posts are small articles.

The thing that I want you to keep in mind with articles is to always look to add value to your reader.  So, when it comes to articles, that’s what I’ve always tried to do.  I’ll give you a quick example of what articles have done for me.

In October some time, I set up a site for a niche that I was working in.  Like many things when you are getting started, I started the sales page, then I created a blog, and then I posted my first blog post to it. I figured the next logical step would be to write an article to try to get some traffic to the site, since it was a new site.

So, I went ahead and wrote a 700 word article and then submitted it to 3 article directories.  Guess what happened?

I started getting people to my site, and opting in to my e-mail list.  People were opting in for several months though.

The only way that I ever marketed that site is from ONE article. What I did was write an article, posted it in three article directories, posted it on my blog, and made a Squidoo lens with it.  Remember, I only wrote one article and used it in all these places.

You know what the problem was though?

The article was doing its job, which was to draw traffic back to my site, however, I didn’t have the site completed.  My auto responder didn’t have the messages tied to it, the sales page was not completely done up to have good conversions, and other things were missing.

Since this was my first article, I didn’t have a clue that I would get traffic immediately, and that my article would be posted in over 50 other websites within about a week.

To make a long story short, articles do work.  If my first article ever was able to get me subscribers to my opt in page and also get my link into over 50 sites, think of what a constant flow of articles would do.   Go ahead and try it yourself.

I was thinking today about why I got into internet marketing, and discovered a few things. Internet marketing is parallel to doing business off line, but the dynamic changes slightly.

Internet marketing is all about creating relationships online, rather than off line. As a loan officer, it was my job to form relationships with real estate agents and other professionals in the hopes of acquiring more business. Things certainly haven’t changes now that I am marketing online.

Off line was about networking events - Online is about social networking

Off line was about passing out your business card - Online is about posting on your blog.

Off line was about calling your prospects every night - Online is about emailing your list several times a week.

Off line was about doing sales presentations - Online is about selling and presenting yourself

Off line was about advertising - Online is about building traffic

I can go on and on about this, but what I am trying to share with you is that internet marketing is the same as selling in any off line business. Sure, you use different tools, but you do the same things that you would to grow your business whether it is online or off line.

The Secret To Instant Product Creation!

I am currently working on a number of products for this year’s arsenal, and I started reviewing how I do things day to day. Well, it so happens that I am a huge fan of journaling. I learned this a few years ago, so I’ve been able to create massive notes over the years from seminars that I’ve been to, thoughts that I’ve had, ideas, and so on.

So, the I was looking at some of the notes in my Internet Marketing journal, and saw that there was some great stuff that I’ve taken notes of, and some of it that I actually implemented.

Well, the thought occurred to me that I should start taking notes on Word so that I can reference them every so often. So, for the last 2 weeks, I’ve been taking notes of conference calls, videos, Armind Moran’s launch videos, Stompernet Videos, Frank Kern videos…..

Well, since my notes are already in Word, I can easily gather my thoughts and compile the info together (that is related) and create products from the notes that I already have. On top of that, I can do my own recording and videos on how to implement the things that i’ve already taken notes of.

So, if you are wondering how to create a product of your own, simply take good notes on what you learn, and as you implement it, gather it all together to come up with your own version.

Wala….Instant Product Creation while you learn!!!

John was surfing the net when he came across Emily’s website on dog grooming.  As John was looking through all the different products that Emily offered, a brand new dog grooming kit caught his eye.  As he clicked through several links on the website to learn more about the contents of the dog grooming kit, John got a call on his cell phone.

Without hesitation, John quickly answered the phone and started talking to an old college friend about the good old days.  As they continued to chat, John followed his friend to their college’s website where there was a picture of them from several years back.

What Emily didn’t realize is that she had a valuable prospective client snooping around her site, ready to buy, but because she made a few mistakes when planning her website out, she lost John as a customer, not having any way to bring him back to the website again.

Many people operating an internet based business are completely missing the boat just like Emily when they lose valuable customers on their website.  The best way to avoid such a deadly mistake is by capturing the visitors’ name and email address.  Here are valuable methods that you can use once you capture your visitors information, to start making more money online.

5 Deadly Secrets To Cashing In On The Internet

    1. Create and Manage a Mailing List – Your new mailing list will help you stay in touch with your subscribers and inform them about new articles that you’ve written, newsletters that will bring value to them and special offers that you may have at the time.
    2. Distribute Advertising – If you sell advertising on your site or newsletter, or promote other people’s products, you can make sure you get the message out to your subscribers so that they can take advantage of the offers and you can profit from your emails

    3. Give A Free Email Course – Depending on the nature of your website, it is always a good idea to provide people with something of value that will establish your credibility and expertise.  An email course will do exactly that.  You simply set up a 7 day campaign or 5 part course (depending on your preference) that they will get giving them tips on the topic that your website covers.

Every lesson will continue adding to your credibility, which would make it much easier to buy from you. Make sure to include a paragraph or two at the end of each lesson enticing your prospect to consider making a purchase.

    4. Continue Communicating After The Purchase- It is very important to not let your customers go after they’ve made a purchase from you.  The reason is, they already know you, like you, and trust you, and it would be much easier for them to buy other products from you than starting from scratch again.  This also applies to you own sales, knowing that it is easier and less expensive to get repeat purchased from clients than getting brand new buyers.
    5. Invite Them To Sell For You – This is one of the most important parts of cashing in on the internet. People who are interested in your products or services know other people who are interested in your product or services.

Once you know that, then why don’t you entice your customers to refer others to your site for a commission.  They don’t do anything except bring people over to you, and you don’t pay unless someone buys.  It’s a win-win situation.

As you can see, many doors begin to open the minute that you start applying these 5 Deadly Secrets To Cashing In On The Internet.  If Emily had known these secrets all along, she would have gotten many more opportunities to get John back to her website and allow him to buy from her.

Blogging has been around since the mid 90’s.  Since then, there have been dramatic changes in the functions and usability of blogs that have made them the weapon of choice for internet marketers around the world.  In general, people use them to give their opinion or thoughts on everything that can come to mind.

However, just like a saw to a lumberjack, give a blog to an internet marketing expert, and it becomes a deadly tool to bring massive traffic and create mindshare worldwide.

Here are 5 reasons why blogging is the internet marketing silver bullet.

    1. Blogging Is Fast and Easy

The simplest way today to get heard on the internet is through the use of a blog.  There are virtually no skills required - just point, write, and click.  It’s like taking notes on a napkin; just take your thoughts, and make them available for all to see online.

If you are strategic, you can even convince people to try out your products or services simply by reading your thoughts on the topics you write about. Quite simply, if you have a computer and an Internet connection, then you have everything necessary to start blogging and earn money on demand.

    2. Blogging Is More Personal Than Blatant Ads

In this day and age where advertising consumes our lives, it is easy to be put in the category of false promises and under delivering. Its different with blogs though.  With blogs, real people share their real-life experiences with other people, and we are always interested in people‘s experiences.  Your promotions within your blog can also take the shape of reviews on products to make it less obvious that you are actually selling something at all.

    3. Blogging Is Free.

With the use of available services on the internet, blogs can be set up totally free. There are actually free blogging services that will host your blog, or there is free software that you can install on your own domain to host your own blog on the domain name of your choice.  Either option is virtually free.

Having the options for free blogging which can create free traffic frees up your money to invest in another area of your internet marketing business.

    4. Blogging Creates Credibility

Simply put, the more you write, the more of an expert you become.  The truth is, even if there are hundreds of other experts, most of them are not giving away free and valuable information on their blog, so many people will not even realize that they are experts.  However, as you keep writing frequently on your blog, you will develop a following and an army of fans that will buy products that you recommend simply because they believe you are an expert.

As an expert, other people will take notice of the amount of fans you have and may try contacting you to advertise with you and add your link to their site, which is always a good idea.

    5. Blogging Create And Defines Your Market

There are several ways that blogging affects your target market.  Here are just a few.

-Any time you update your blog with a new post that is valuable, you can email your contact list and give them a taste of what they’ll find on your blog.  They nay even tell their friends about it.

-Use the value that you generate to have people subscribe to your update or newsletter list.  Keep some exclusive information for your subscribers to entice readers to subscribe and give their e-mail address.  Once you capture your email, you can send them updates to your blog, as well as send them offers by email

-Conduct surveys on your readers to get to know what they want to know about, then give it to them in small, bite size pieces on your blog and create or find a product that will satisfy what they are looking for.

-Use RSS feeds. I don’t want to confuse you with the technical talk, but RSS is the fastest growing technology on the Internet today.  RSS feeds from your blog is a great way to keep your readers in the loop and increase the chances of your content to be featured on other sites, creating more traffic and links back to your blog.

Blogs truly are the silver bullet in Internet Marketing.  Not only are they free, they also have many functions and benefits that would increase your business with little effort.  This is truly a must have in your internet marketing business.
